FERMANAGH'S Brendan Dolan says he's really looking forward to his third round clash at the PDC World Championships with Michael van Gerwen after his whitewash win over Hong Kong youngster Lok Yin Lee.
The History Maker believes he's starting to find a bit of form again as a doubling masterclass saw him breeze through his second round game 3-0.
Dolan averaged 92 and was 69% on his doubles as he now sets his sights on another good World Championship run after making the quarter finals last year.
The experienced 51-year-old was made to sweat by Lee (23) in the opening set as it went to a last leg decider, but Dolan took out an impressive 106 checkout on double 16 to ensure he got off to a flier.
He never looked back after that, winning the next sets comfortably 3-0 and then avoiding any unnecessary mishaps by winning the third set 3-1.
Speaking afterwards, Dolan said his practice over the past month in the lead up to the world championships has paid off.
He said: "I actually started practising a month ago for the first time this year, so I knew I was coming more like myself.
"To get a win, there's a bit of relief, but to play half decent, you know, that's good as well."
Dolan will now return to the Ally Pally stage after Christmas to take on three-time world champion Van Gerwen.
He says he's really looking forward to trying to get the better of the Dutchman.
Dolan added: "As a professional dart player and for me, who is so long in the game, I want to play against the best in the biggest tournaments in the world.
"I had a good run last year and I want to do something similar this year."
