WATERFORD'S Dean Finn is top of the PDC Q School Order of Merit following a second day of action that has seen two more Irish players qualify directly for the final stages.
In another superb day for the Irish contingent in Milton Keynes, Cork's John O'Shea and Limerick's Michael Flynn made it through to the last eight that secures their spots in the final four days of action.
They join Monaghan's Shane McGuirk who got there on day one, while Finn is all but there too after another excellent run from him that ended in the last 16.
The latest Q School ranking table shows that Finn is in first place, while it also makes good reading for Mayo's Conor Heneghan, who has jumped into the top 16 on the Order of Merit following his run to the last 16 today.
Donegal's Dean Gallagher is also well placed in 35th after another run to the last 64 while his fellow county man, Adrian Devine, is also still in contention.
On what was a superb day for the Irish, no less than four of them made it into the last 16, with Michael Flynn seeing off Kai Fang Leung and John O'Shea beating Fallon Sherrock to secure their spots in the final stages.
Both Finn and Heneghan fell at the last 16 hurdle but are almost certain to qualify anyway following an excellent day from the pair.
Finn saw off the likes of former BDO World Champion Scott Mitchell and Andy Hamilton during his run, while Heneghan beat the likes of Lewis Gurney and Scott Walters.
Tomorrow will be the final day of qualifying action at Q School, when the likes of Dublin's Killian McCormack and Sean McKeon, Cork's Ciaran Teehan, Galway's Dylan Dowling, Waterford's Patrick Quinn and Carlow's Niall Culleton will need good runs to make it through to the final stages.
