ONE of the hardest things to do in any sport is to retain a title.
It proved to be no such bother for the Cavan Ladies darts team, however, as they won back-to-back West Coast Challenge crowns on Saturday with another imperious unbeaten run to the crown.
The team of Teresa King, Laura Byrne, Paula Smith, Nadine O'Neill, Noreen Carry, Maura Reilly and Muireann McDermott, showed exactly why they were reigning champions in the first place by winning all of their group games.
They later accounted for Mayo in the semi-finals, before completing another successful West Coast Challenge campaign by beating a strong Galway team in the final.
That sparked wild celebrations amongst the Cavan contingent at the Landmark Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim.
Next up for the Cavan team is the Ladies singles today when Paula Smith will be aiming to retain the title she won 12 months ago.
After that, the Cavan ladies will be one of the favourites going into the INDO inter-county championships next month.
