O'Shea still best placed to win PDC tour card as Finn makes a move

CORK'S John O'Shea remains the best placed of all the Irish to win a PDC Tour Card after another good day at Q school for him.

The Joker made it to the last 16 for the second time in three days and is just a point off the top nine places on the Order Of Merit that will win  a tour card tomorrow.

It was a good day, too, for Waterford's Dean Finn as he also made it to the last 16 and put himself in with a chance by picking up his first two ranking points.

He will be looking to advance to at least the quarter finals tomorrow if he is to have any chance of breaking into the top nine in the ranking table.

Galway's Dylan Dowling also enjoyed his best day in the Q School final stages by making it to the last 32, which means he joins Monaghan's Shane McGuirk on one point.

However, it's looking like either man would need to win the day outright tomorrow if they are to earn a card.

For O'Shea, another run to the last 16 or beyond would certainly see him in the shakeup.

He currently sits in 12th place in the Order Of Merit on 4 points and with a plus 17 leg difference,  which could yet prove crucial if he finishes tied on points with other players.
