LIMERICK'S Michael Flynn was the best of the Irish in the second PDC Challenge Tour event today as he won four games on his way to a last 16 finish.
Flynn began the event with an impressive whitewash win over Holland's Arjan Konterman as he gave a glimpse of what was to come from him throughout the rest of the day.
He followed his opening win with another 5-0 victory over Italy's Massimo Dante, before overcoming Belgium's Remo Mandiau in the last 64.
That set up a clash with England's Jack Tweddell that went right the way to the very last leg.
In a game in which both players impressed it was Flynn who held his nerve to win it 5-4, averaging an impressive 99.82 as he did so.
He was unable to repeat the feat against Northern Ireland's Kevin Burness in the last 16, however, bowing out with a 5-3 loss.
Burness himself advanced as far as the semi-finals before losing to England's Tommy Lishman.
However both he and Flynn will be sitting high on the PDC Challenge Tour Order of Merit following their good runs on the opening day today.
