ULTAN McDyer had his best day yet at the Modus Super Series as he picked up two wins today that keeps him in the mix with one day of Group A action still to go.
The Mayo man saw off Brandon Weening and Justin Smith to leave himself on 6 points and still within touching distance of a Group B place later in the week.
McDyer recovered from early defeats today to Patrick Dekker and Group A leader Richie Howson to defeat Weening in a last leg decider for the second day in succession.
Despite a defeat to Danny van Trijp, McDyer rounded off his day with one of his best displays yet as he averaged an impressive 90 in defeating Justin Smith 4-1.
That win could prove significant in the final shakeup, as it has put McDyer level with Smith in the group and just four points off third placed Weening with one final round of games tomorrow.
A top three placing would secure McDyer a spot in Group B on Thursday, which would be preferable given that three players will qualify from that for finals night.
Otherwise he will drop into Group C, which will only have two finals night places up for grabs.
