RONAN McDonagh is within touching distance of making it to finals night on his debut after another strong run at the Modus Super Series.

The Offaly man won three of his four Group B games to sit tied at the top of the group on six points.

Another two wins out of his final four games today should ensure that McDonagh takes his place in finals night on Saturday.

He began his Group B campaign with an impressive 4-3 win over Carl Snyed, a recent winner of a PDC Challenge Tour event.

The Irishman then had to recover from a 4-0 defeat to Charlie Large with a 4-0 victory of his own over Lee Cocks.

He then closed out his night with a 4-2 victory over Gary Mawson, which could prove crucial as now he, Snyed and Large all have a four point gap over fourth place, with the top three assured of progressing to finals night.
